LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Bicyclists from all over are descending on Lufkin because the Pineywoods Purgatory is riding into town.
Saturday marks the 17th year of the race, named mostly for the many hills in the Pineywoods.
Normally hot weather is a factor too, but the weekend is shaping up to be pretty nice.
The folks from the Nacogdoches Bike Shop were setting up for the race Friday.
Registration is from 5:00pm to 10:00pm and the bikes take off Saturday morning at 6:00.
If you see cyclists on the road, give them some room and a wave as you drive by.
