DIBOLL (KTRE)- Diboll day only happens every other year... and this time around Mayor Bill Brown says it was a big success. "No problems, real smooth, raised a lot of money and you really can't tell in the park that a hurricane came through a couple weeks ago. It's been a great day for Diboll," the Mayor enthusiastically says.
This year they had 40 food booths, 30 craft booths, live music that could be heard around the park and lots and lots of people. Brown says, "This has been a great day. A lot of people, around 10,000 that come out and it's been a great day."
The parade this morning kicked off the event that raised over 300-thousand dollars.
"Total out of three groups, we raised $302,000, it was great. We missed a whole week because of the hurricane so it turned out to be a great week. We raised a lot of money for local charities and we are very proud of the city of Diboll for all the work they've done" says Brown.
All that money stays in Diboll, the Mayor says it will go to daycare, Boys and Girls Club, baseball program, The Little Dribblers Program and Diboll 4H.
