Nacogdoches man indicted for having sawed-off shotgun

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A sawed-off shotgun leads to a Federal Grand Jury indictment for a Nacogdoches man.

Ryan Fountain, 30, has been indicted for being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of an unregistered firearm.

On February 8th, 2008 Nacogdoches Police Officers responded to a welfare concern at Fountain's house.

While there for the disturbance, they found six guns, including the sawed-off shotgun.

Fountain was already on felony probation for burglary of a habitation in Nacogdoches.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lisa Flournoy is prosecuting the case.  If convicted on the gun charges, fountain faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250-thousand dollars.
