Political forum planned

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) Audience members at the legislative forum hosted by the Nacogdoches Chapter of the American Association of University Women and Retired Teachers of Nacogdoches County on Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 6 until 7:30 p.m. in Liberal Arts North (across from the parking garage on Aikman Drive) are invited to submit questions of the two main speakers, the Republican incumbent Wayne Christian and the Democratic candidate Kenneth Franks. Cards and pencils will be provided at the door and written questions collected. Questions will be screened by political party chairmen Tim Garrigan, Democrat, and Jackie Yates, Republican. Questions from the audience will be presented by the moderator after the debate portion of the forum. Moderator of the forum is Dr. Carolyn Mitchell. Timekeeper is Kathryn Robertson.

Local candidates who will speak briefly are Republicans Ed Klein, incumbent District Judge, 420th Judicial District; John Fleming, candidate for County Attorney; and Loretta Cammack, incumbent and candidate (serving unexpired term) for District Clerk.

Democratic Party candidates are David C. Rankin for District Judge, 420th Judicial District; David J. Guillory for County Attorney; and Vanessa Thorn for District Clerk.

Light refreshments will be served.

There is no charge for use of the parking garage, and parking will be available on Aikman Drive and in the lot behind the university police office.
