Out of control woods fire concerns Woden area

WODEN, TX (KTRE) - At this hour Texas Forest Service firefighters are keeping a watch on the a fire they brought under control just hours ago.   The area they're watching is about a mile east of Woden on Farm to Market Road 226 in Nacogdoches County. It's in the Oil Springs Road area. Right now everything is under control, but earlier today the situation was more uncertain. Area volunteer fire departments and from Nacogdoches were on a alert at the Woden Fire Department. Firefighters nervously watched smoke from the fire's isolated orgin. It could only be reached by bulldozers. The 300 acre control burn jumped its boundaries about noon. Woden VFD assistant Chief Jimmy Ragsdale said,   " The winds did pick up.   My chief called back and said they had flames as high as 40 foot in the air in the top of the trees. "

Around 2 in the afternoon Texas Forest Service firefighters got the blaze under control. Emergency workers were most concerned about unaware deer hunters who could have possibly gotten trapped if the fire wasn't brought under control.
