Missing Wife

LUFKIN (KTRE) - An Angelina County woman is reported missing after spending days at her husband's hospital beside in Tyler.  Melissa Moran of Lufkin was last seen on October 25.  Her family is desperately trying to find her.

They say all of her personal belongings were left at East Texas Medical Center when she vanished.  "We don't know if she's been kidnapped.  We don't know if she just went walking and something went wrong, but please, please contact us," said her sister Barbara Shoffitt.  The family says Moran has a history of mental illness and drug abuse.

A missing person's report was issued on October 29 by the Tyler Police Department, however, as of this writing they have no new leads to her whereabouts.  If you have any information that could help call Tyler Police or Crime Stoppers.

Moran was visiting her husband who was seriously injured a month ago in a motorcycle accident on Highway 103 in Angelina County.  Since his wife's disappearance, Joe Moran has been transferred to a nursing home in Henderson.  He is paralyzed and has injuries to his brain.  The couple has four small children ranging in age from three to 12 years old.
