Texans still glowing after their victory over Cowboys

(Houston-AP) -- The Houston Texans likely won't be as giddy

after every game but at least they beat the Dallas Cowboys in their

season opener. They'll also have state bragging rights for the next

four years until the two teams meet again.

The worst nightmare Dallas owner Jerry Jones could imagine

unfolded before him as he paced the sidelines last night. He

watched along with a raucous crowd as David Carr threw two

touchdown passes and the Texans defense thwarted the Cowboys

offense for a 19-10 victory.

It was a dream come true for the Texans, who for just one day

today reveled in their improbable victory. They became the only

expansion team since the 1961 Minnesota Vikings to win their first

game ever.
