Diboll's Nikki Greene stayed with her commitment to Penn State, signing with the Nittany Lions Wednesday afternoon. The six foot five senior is ranked as a top 20 prospect nationally by ESPN Hoop Gurlz.
Some were surprised Greene picked Penn State because it's so far from home and pretty cold.
"I've been traveling most of my life," Greene says. "So I'm looking for new things and looking to experience something new. My mom says she got me a couple of jackets and snow boots."
Greene says she expects to contribute as a freshman. And she'll enter division one basketball with a chip on her shoulder.
"Hopefully (I can) make it to the NCAA tournament and show a lot of people that doubted me about my abilities that I'm one of the top players," Greene says.
Besides Penn State, Greene also visited Rutgers.
