Little League Football Season Opens

Are you ready for more football? Some Little Leaguers are. Their wait for the season to start ended Saturday. The Boys and Girls Club of Deep East Texas opened their football season in Nacogdoches. The league is made up of players from all over East Texas.

Organizers presented a check from NFL Charities for $2,000. League staff members say the money will help the league continue to grow.

"The Boys and Girls Club is all about helping kids, and this league is definitely helping a lot of kids," said Jeff Wilson of the Boys and Girls Club. "We're really excited about being a part of it and we really think that the league will just continue to get better and better now." This is the first year the Boys and Girls Club has been involved with the football league.
