Lufkin teacher placed on leave after comments about Obama

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin High School teacher is on paid administrative leave after being accused of making negative remarks about President-Elect Barack Obama.

According to LISD superintendent Roy Knight, the school found out about it from a parent.

Written statements have been collected from the teacher and from students who heard the comment, and Knight says that the investigation is being conducted by the human resources department, campus level administrators, and his office.

The teacher faces disciplinary action pending the outcome of the investigation.
