NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches County jury has found Shaun Gilmore, 24, guilty of three counts of felony racing. Punishment phase of the trial will begin later this afternoon.
Gilmore was involved in a racing incident where three people were killed two years ago this month. He was convicted last month, but a mistrial was declared prior to punishment because of jury misconduct.
The SFA math major could receive two to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. The other racer, Antonio Martinez was found guilty in February of three counts of racing and three counts of intoxicated manslaughter. He's serving a 50 year sentence.
