Houston man indicted for criminally negligent homicide

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) An Angelina County grand jury indicted a Houston man on Wednesday for criminally negligent homicide.

Isaac Milstead is accused of causing an accident on Highway 59 in July that sent several people to the hospital, and killed a woman.

According to Lufkin police, Milstead was driving a pick-up and towing a trailer, when he made an illegal U-turn in front of Angelina College, and clipped the back of another car. That driver overcorrected, and flipped several times, ejecting two people, including 75-year-old Bertress Allen of Gladewater. She later died at the hospital, and Milstead was cited at the scene.

The same afternoon after causing the first accident, Milstead is accused of causing a second accident in Diboll involving seven different vehicles at a red light. But the indictment is in connection with the fatal accident in Lufkin.
