TYLER, Texas (AP) - One man has died of injuries from an oil refinery explosion and fire in Tyler, Texas.
A spokeswoman for Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas said 49-year-old Dale Sherman died of his injuries from Thursday's explosion at the Delek Refining plant. Spokeswoman Candace White said another worker remained in critical condition at Parkland on Friday.
Tyler Fire Capt. Jeff Akin said plant firefighters were still monitoring a small residual fire that could burn for days.
Delek Refining President Fred Green said no cause for the explosion and fire has been determined, but the Nashville, Tenn.-based company is continuing its investigation. Meanwhile, production at the 60,000-barrel-per-day refinery has stopped.
