Salvation Army's Red-Kettle Drive Kicks Off

by Kirby Gibbs

Lufkin, TX (KTRE) - Bells will be ringing as the Christmas holiday approaches.

The Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive kicked off at Brookshire Brothers today. Shoppers are invited to drop a few coins, or even a few bills, in the kettles as they pass. They're hoping to collect 50 thousand dollars this holiday season, and that money will go toward the Lufkin chapter of the Salvation Army, which includes holiday programs like Angel Tree. Other stores that participated in the kick off included Hobbylobby and Walgreens.
