Ike Creates New Job Opportunities

Lufkin, TX (KTRE)- There are still people who are trying to make a come back from the effects of Ike. People who relocated to East Texas and lost jobs, and local residents that need work right now, have the opportunity to be hired on as employees to help with clean up and other humanitarian efforts that companies are providing for Ike impacted areas.

"Our workforce development board was able to get a National Emergency Grant provided through the state from the Department of Labor. We will pay our customers their salary as part of them these companies with the disaster recovery" says Jon Bunn the Buisiness Development manager of Workforce Solutions.

Workforce  is urging companies to take advantage of this opportunity that allows them to gain new employees at no cost to the company.
