TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Trinity County sheriff's deputies continue to pursue criminal investigations following yesterday's death of the county's Sheriff Brent Lee. As we first reported last night, Lee died when the car he was driving crashed into a tree while he was on his way to a disturbance call. Today, Chief Deputy Don Fisher tells us a woman was arrested for a hit and run. This was the first of three calls at the same Pine Crest Estate location that Lee responded to prior to his death. Fisher says the woman is charged for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She allegedly hit two people with a car, didn't call for help and left the scene. The victims didn't have any life threatening injuries. An investigation into the shooting of a Trinity police dispatcher at the same location continues. Fisher said Chasen Bynum is getting out of the hospital today. Meanwhile, the funeral for Sheriff Lee is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday.
