AUSTIN - Gov. Rick Perry has named 23 members to the Governor's Commission for Disaster Recovery and Renewal. The commission will act as an advisory panel of public and private sector experts who will create a plan to assist Texas communities with recovery efforts after a natural disaster. County Judges from coastal counties are named ex-officio members along with the Commissioner of the General Land Office Jerry Patterson of Austin and Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples of Austin. The governor previously named Robert Eckels of Houston chair of the commission.

Ronnie "Ron" Acosta of Pearland is regional vice president of Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

William B. Claybar is mayor of the City of Orange and president of Claybar Funeral Home.

Irma Diaz-Gonzalez of Houston is president and CEO of the Employment and Training Centers Inc. and chair of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

George "Trey" H. Henderson III of Lufkin is president of Angelina Hardwood Sales Company.

Gary L. Hockstra of Lake Jackson is the vice president and site director for Dow Texas Operations. 

Jo Ann Howard of Austin is an attorney and president of H2O Partners Inc.

Jerry Kane of Corpus Christi is president and CEO of Sam Kane Beef Processors.

Mary E. Kelly of Austin is vice president of rivers and deltas at the Environmental Defense Fund.  She has 20 years experience as an environmental lawyer.

William "Bill" E. King of Houston is a lawyer at Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, and president and director of Southwest Airport Services Inc.

H. Thomas Kornegay of Houston is executive director of the Port of Houston Authority, and a registered engineer in the state of Texas.

David L. Lakey of Austin is the commissioner of the Texas Department of State Health Services.

David S. Lopez of Houston is president and CEO of the Harris County Hospital District.

Ross D. Margraves Jr. of Houston is an attorney and a member of the recruiting committee for Winstead Attorneys.

Scott McClelland of Houston is president of the Houston Division of H-E-B.

Tracye McDaniel of Houston is executive vice president and COO of the Greater Houston Partnership.

Allan B. Polunsky of San Antonio is an attorney and the presiding chair of the Texas Public Safety Commission.

Penny Redington of Austin is executive director of the Texas Association of Regional Councils.

Regina Rogers of Beaumont is an attorney in private practice, and a member of the Harris County Hospital District.

Rolando Rubiano of Harlingen is a structural engineer and principal with Green, Rubiano and Associates.

Karen A. Sexton of Galveston is interim executive vice president and CEO of the University of Texas Medical Branch Health System. 

Wade E. Upton of Houston is the retired senior vice president of Valero Energy Corporation.

Daniel "Dan" J. Wolterman of Houston is president and CEO of Memorial Healthcare System.

H. Edwin Young of Houston is the pastor at Houston's Second Baptist Church.
