Teen Vandal Charged

Lufkin, TX (KTRE - A teenager identified in the December 6th store vandalism of Polk's convenience store on Timberland Drive in Lufkin has turned himself in.

Damien Castle, 17, of Lufkin turned himself in on December 17.  He's charged with making a terroristic threat, which is a Class A misdemeanor, Class A criminal mischief and Class A assault.

KTRE aired surveillance video showing the vandalism which police say led them to the identity of the suspect.  According to witnesses, a man seen in the surveillance video, apparently upset because the store clerk wouldn't sell him cigarettes allegedly vandalized the store. 

Lt. David Young with the Lufkin Police department says the 17 year old, along with his mother, went to the police station "right after the news aired on Friday (December 12)" and gave a statement.  The following week, a warrant was issued for the teenager and he turned himself in.
