LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Giving toys to kids can be a joy, but it's even more heartwarming when the wish of a child with a life threatening illness comes true.
Make a Wish Foundation granted the wish of 14 year old Eric Session of Nacogdoches. Eric has been battling sickle cell anemia since infancy. He experienced a stroke at ten years old and now recieves blood transfusions every four months here in Lufkin. Susan Cox, a volunteer on the Board of Directors of Make a Wish says, Eric's story of stregnth and good courage made him the ideal candidate for this gift.
"In Eric's case, his wish was for a laptop computer, printer, gift certificate for games and such and a carry pack and desk and all the goodies that go with it."
