Nacogdoches Shooting Update

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - The disturbance call that ended with a Nacogdoches man in the hospital on Christmas Eve is being investigated by Texas Rangers.

Nacogdoches police responded to a call at a house in the 1600 block of Coleman Street. After identifying themselves, police were greeted by 44 year old Michael Anthony Henderson of Nacogdoches, pointing a gun at them out the front door. One of the officers then fired at Henderson four times with a patrol rifle, injuring him. Henderson has since been charged with aggravated assault of a public servant. According to Texas Ranger Pete Maskunas, they will present all evidence from the investigation, including toxology reports, to a grand jury in Nacogdoches. He says that even in cases where the shooting is not fatal, if an officer is involved, a jury is always allowed to review the case.
