LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Children and parents at Harmony Hill Baptist Church in Lufkin unwrapped quite a treat today.
It was the grand opening of the newly remodeled children's building. What used to be a chapel, has now been transformed into a "treehouse" and "backyard".
Harmony hill baptist church members say it's not only a place for the children to congregate and play, but also to learn and worship.
"Our new facility, the tree house, means to our church and to our community that we love children and we recognize the value of children and the potential they have to learn so much about god and about how he wants to be active in their lives" said Beth Johnson, the Interim Children's Director at Harmony Hill.
Sr. Pastor, john Green told KTRE, "We want to meet children where they are. They enjoy having a good time, playing together and we want to build on that."
The children's first service in the new facility will be next Sunday, January 11th at 10:30 a.m.
