TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Anne De Laet organized "Welcome Home Soldiers" in East Texas after witnessing a homecoming in a West Texas airport. As soon as she got the word out, volunteers started calling. Parents with sons and daughters in the Military, Veterans, and ordinary people who love our country all wanted to be part of the group.
With flags waving and patriotic music playing, "Welcome Home Soldiers" greet our returning servicemen and women at the Tyler or Longview airports, in homes, churches, and even on parking lots.
The only way the group knows when a serviceman or woman is returning is by contact with their families. For more information call Anne DeLaet at 903-561-6016 or 903-279-7301.
