Make Yourself at Home at the DETAB Home Show

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Well, if you're looking to build a new home... We've got the perfect place for you. East Texas News was at the Deep East Texas Association of Builders Home Show today to get a sneak peak of some of the latest building products and home appliances.

"Make yourself at home" or "Make a home", is what DETAB encouraged East Texans to do as they looked for ways to spruce up their homes and even save.

From energy saving items like woodburning stoves and high efficiancy fireplaces to spray foam insulation, if you're going green, here's the place to be.

"This is what most people have in their homes is fiber glass insulation" explains Marlin Prentice, a Sales Representative of Enviro-Tech Insulation LLC. "And here's cellulose which is a little better than fiber glass, but our product, no air can penetrate our product, spray foam, you cannot penetrate spray foam which eliminates the number one cause for energy loss in the home".

But what most people don't have in their home is... "That attic system over there, that attic lift... That's something else" exclaimed an impressed homeowner.

And if you love to bake, but don't like to wait... You just might love the Trivection.

"We have about 40 cookies in here at one time and these cookies have cooked in 7 minutes. And we can cook a hundred of them at one time in less than 8 minutes" promissed a sales representative of Barrett Appliances and Home Servies.

Tomorrow is the last day for the detab home show. Doors open at noon at the Pitser Garrison Civic Center. Admission is $5.

Also included in the show are homebuilders that will be available to discuss custom home building with those interested.
