LUFKIN/NACOGDOCHES, TX- Thanks to donations from Churches, Businesses and local organizations over 1600 items were donated to the Heartbeat Pregnancy Center and Pregnancy Help Center in Lufkin.

This year was a first for the World's Largest Baby Shower, with an all-new event, games, and ways for the community to donate.  Drew Wilson, Promotion Director from KSWP and KAVX shared, "We had a blast with the new baby shower event and we look forward to gaining more support for these great ministries with another event next year."

The event included a diaper-changing contest, a "Price Is Right" style price guessing game with baby items and the baby food eating competition for Youth Ministers and Organization Leaders.

Groups that participated were encouraged to make donations to the Pregnancy Centers in Lufkin and Nacogdoches and they also had an opportunity to win door prizes provided by local businesses.  New Life Worship Center and Clawson Assembly in Lufkin both won Nintendo Wii game systems donated by Best Buy in Lufkin. Other prizes included Pizza Parties from Papa Murphy's in Nacogdoches and Domino's in Lufkin, massages from Carolyn Cerbo and gift cards from Cotton Patch and Olive Garden.

Al Ross, Operations Manager at KSWP and KAVX adds, "The community did an incredible job making donations, especially in these economic times but, we must remember these ministries cannot thrive on these donations alone, we want to encourage everyone to continue to support them throughout the year."

KSWP and KAVX are part of the Lufkin Educational Broadcasting Foundation (LEBF), a non-profit organization providing the community with information, news, entertainment and encouragement. LEBF has been serving East Texas for over 23 years and its goal is to "Serve You For Life" with a message of hope, joy and LOVE.
