LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Carylon and her florists wheeled love all over East Texas this Valentine's Day delivering smiles, one surprise at a time.
"Even after all these years...it's a surprise on Valentine's Day to get these nice, wonderful things and I have a very, very special sweetheart," a surprised customer said.
However, it does not matter how old you are, Carylon made sure everyone got something special on this day.
Kaitlyn Gates went to Carylon's store with her dad to buy flowers for her mom, but walked out with a little something of her own.
"A pink rose," a smiling Gates said.
After delivering thousands of flowers, the florists came back to the shop to arrange more flowers to put more smiles on people's faces.
"Well, I expected something, but I didn't really know what was going on," said a surprised Ashley Conlon.
Margaret Bates, a florist at Carylon's shop said their favorite thing to do is "delivering and making people happy."
East Texans became happy one box of chocolate covered strawberries at a time.
However, Carylon Benge, owner of Carylon's Florists said she does not do it for the money. She insists she does it because it is so rewarding.
"Usually they try to tip you, but you don't you just give them a big old hug and that makes you feel even better," Benge said.
They even made a stop at Target to make a delivery to a special someone in Benge's life.
Stacy Richardson, Benge's daughter-in-law said she was, "absolutely thrilled" with her arrangement and said her mother-in-law florist was "outstanding."
Carylon's Florists is located on Highway 69 North in Lufkin. They are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
