APPLE SPRINGS, TX (KTRE) - The attorney for Apple Springs Independent School District said that the internal investigation into allegations of impropriety between a teacher and a student has been closed today.
The teacher, Ashley Summers, resigned from Apple Springs school district earlier this month.
The attorney said one witness came forward and said they saw Summers and a student embracing off school property. The school district found that there was also a series of inappropriate text messages and phone calls between the teacher and the student.
The attorney said the school district considers any contact between a teacher and a student outside school, other than to relay school-related information, inappropriate.
Because the teacher has resigned no further action is expected by the school. There was no arrest was made.
