Police called to large disturbance at apartment complex

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches Police are keeping a close watch on Hampton Place West Apartment Complex on the corner of East Austin and North Pecan. Monday evening officers were called there twice within thirty minutes. Residents say about 50 people were arguing with one another. When police drive up they scatter.  "They (the crowd) started in the court yard and then they ended up on north pecan street," said Lisa Bronsell, an apartment resident. "And then we started to leave and that's when the cops showed back up."

"It was a disturbance, possibly with some weapons, but we were getting other stories where there was no gun, so we're still trying to find out what's going on," explained Lt. Tim Goerner with the Nacogdoches Police Department. At least one arrest was made. Initially, police were told gunshots were fired, but a closer investigation ruled that out. Nevertheless, there is concern more fights could occur.
