Baby Kaylan's mother questioned by sheriff's department

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - The mother of three year old Kaylan Broumley has been interviewed by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Department. The questions focused on the child's death, allegedly caused by child abuse.  Joy Simmons, also known as Joy Yates is not a suspect. That's according to Sheriff Thomas Kerss. Following the questioning, he's satisfied that Simmons didn't cause the death of her three year old daughter. Kerss doesn't anticipate the case will lead to any more arrests or other charges. Simmons' boyfriend, Anthony Tyrone Roberts remains in jail for Kaylan's capital murder. A grand jury will eventually hear the evidence.
