LUFKIN, TX - The City of Lufkin Municipal Court and the Lufkin Police Department will conduct a warrant sweep on March 06, 2009. The Municipal Court holds several thousand outstanding warrants, most of them for traffic or city ordinance violations.
The warrant sweep will focus on those individuals with multiple outstanding warrants. During the warrant sweep officers from the Lufkin Police Department will team up with the Lufkin City Marshal to go out and serve as many of these warrants as possible.
For those who wish to avoid the embarrassment of being arrested at home or work, and who would like to take care of outstanding warrants prior to or during the sweep should appear in person at the Municipal Court, 300 East Shepherd between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Friday . Fines may be paid as late as 8:00 pm on March 6, 2009.
