The U.S. budget overview for 2010 is unveiled

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama has unveiled a three and a half trillion dollar spending plan.  The 2010 budget boosts taxes on the wealthy, curtail Medicare, lay the groundwork for universal healthcare and leave a string of deficits dwarfing any in the nation's history.

President Barack Obama says his budget marks "a new era of responsibility," but Republicans are calling it a "missed opportunity." Obama says the multi-trillion-dollar spending plan will deliver both middle class tax cuts and expand health care. But New Hampshire Sen. Judd Gregg says it "fails to make any tough choices to control the deficit."
