Jena Johnson joined the East Texas News Team as a video journalist in February 2009. A Dallas native, Jena is thrilled to begin her career in the Lone Star state.
Jena knew early on that she wanted to be a journalist. She pursued her dream by studying at the University of North Texas where she earned a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in English.
While in college, Jena worked as the News Director at the student-run jazz radio station, KNTU-FM 88.1. During her time as News Director, KNTU received the "Outstanding Media Award" from the Emergency Management Association of Texas. She also produced and reported for North Texas Television, a live, cable TV station.
When she's not reporting, she spends time writing, visiting with her family and exploring East Texas. She's happy to be doing what she loves in East Texas.
