Tyler, TX (KLTV)  When people say Clay Clemmer rocks, they could mean his music or his profession. Clemmer has written about eighty songs and thought for a time of making music his career. But rocks got in the way. Clemmer began working with stone in his family's monument business as a kid. Now as co-owner of Granite Division in Tyler, Clemmer creates glorious baths and kitchens, as well as special projects like a fountain at U.T., granite signs welcoming travelers to the State of Texas, and even a Bishop's Chair for the Catholic Church.

But Clemmer's development of a resin setting technique he named "Granite Loc" has opened up a whole new direction in stone work. Granite squares can now be put together with "Granite Loc without grout lines and turned into stronger, easier to install counters, showers, walls and even decorative items. A devastating fire nearly destroyed Granite Division in June of last year, but Clemmer says it turned out to be "a blessing" because of the way both workers and management at the company worked to rebuild.
