Police bust a meth lab in Nacogdoches County

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Law enforcement made a bust on an active meth lab in Nacogdoches.

The lab is just off of Highway 59 North about a half-mile off County Road 808.

Precinct 4 and 2 contstables as well as the Nacogdoches Sheriff's Office are at the scene handling the investigation. Hazmat crews are also on the scene, but can't go into the actual meth lab which is located in a shed outside the home. Upon entering the lab they discovered what they believe is a pipe bomb.

ATF is en route.

"We've found several individuals inside with an active meth lab cooking," said Constable Jason Bridges. "It is one of larger labs I've seen. It will be a scene process here. They were cooking in two different spots."

Contstables said they arrested Chris Commander and Jeffery Chamberlin at the scene without resistance. Both suspects are being charged with possession of methamphemine with the intent to manufacture, which is a second degree felony.
