Lufkin woman suffers minor injuries on overpass wreck

A Lufkin woman wrecked while falling asleep at the wheel Wednesday morning on the Loop 287 overpass at the intersection of Frank Street, a Lufkin Police spokesman said.

Martha Sanabria was transported to the hospital by ambulance with minor injuries, Lt. David Young said.

The front end of Sanabria's Ford SUV was heavily damaged as she bounced into the concrete barriers several times, according to a Lufkin Police officer covering the wreck.

The wreck was the most serious out of eight reported by Lufkin Police Wednesday. Young said most of the wrecks occurred after the rain started.
