Voluntary recall of Hostess brownies due to allergen omission

KANSAS CITY, MO (KLTV) - Hostess has issued a voluntary recall of several kinds of their Cookies 'n Creme Brownies.

According to the US Food and Drug Administration, the recall is out of an abundance of caution because the "Contains" statement on the box does not list egg as an allergen.

The statement is meant to alert people of allergens that are included in the product.

The FDA said that there have been no reports of any illnesses or injuries at this time.

They also said that anyone who has bought a product affected by the recall and is allergic or sensitive to eggs should throw out or return it for a refund.
