EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - While there are fewer fleas in your yard right now, it’s not the same for your pets.
Adults fleas can easily survive the winter, so you may want to consider treating them now.
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service says you should use an insect growth regulator or an insect development inhibitor that can be used on your pets.
While these do not kill fleas outright, they are a valuable tool to use in controlling the pests.
Contact your local veterinarian for the best product to use on your pet.
