ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Commissioners approved Thursday for the Angelina County Election Committee to purchase new electronic ballot devices and equipment.

The election administrator received the green light to buy 170 electronic ballot marking device terminals, 69 printers, 54 electronic pollbooks with matching software, and 35 scanners.

Electronic administrator Connie Brown said the equipment will be in place well before this November’s elections.

“Since the volume is a little less, it will give us a chance to see do have any places that we need to tweak,” said Brown. “You can’t compare the Constitutional amendment to primary because of the volume. It will still give us familiarity of the equipment.”

Brown said the county will host a Citizen’s Day to explore the new equipment once the purchase is complete.
