“This arrest is in connection to the shooting death of Lyric Polley, a 21-year-old from Nacogdoches, Tx,” a press release stated. “Detectives are actively working to identify more suspects in the case.”

According to a previous press release, Nacogdoches PD officers were dispatched out to a club located at 609 Old Tyler Road multiple times in reference to a large disturbance in the morning hours of Nov. 18, 2018.

At 1:14 a.m., NPD officers responded to the ASD Lounge again. When they got to the scene, they found a large disturbance and a victim lying on the ground outside the club, the press release stated. The victim, who was later identified as Polley, had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

The press release stated that emergency medical personnel who responded to the scene determined that Polley had died as a result of the gunshot wound.

According to the arrest affidavit, Nacogdoches PD detectives learned that the shooting was a result of a fight involving multiple people in the club’s parking lot.

“Wilson was named s one of several people who shot a gun in the crowded parking lot,” the affidavit stated. “A video was discovered that shows Wilson in possession of a firearm just prior to the shooting.”

NPD detectives interviewed Wilson, and he allegedly admitted to firing a gun multiple times in the parking lot of the club. Wilson told police that he was in the parking lot and shot the gun across the parking lot toward people who were across Old Tyler Road, the affidavit stated.

“This is an open investigation, and detectives encourage anyone with information to contact the Nacogdoches Police Department at (936) 559-2607,” the Jan. 30 press release stated.
