NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - For decades, a large tree hung over Raguet Street in Nacogdoches and warranted neighbors to ask questions like “when will it fall?” or “will it ever be cut down?”
On Thursday afternoon, they got their answer.
Eric Russell Tree Service was called to the intersection of Pine and Raguet Street, where the infamous tree bends and shadows the roadway with its long branches. In a matter of hours, the tree was gone. It’s unclear right now whether a homeowner or the city made the call.
Russell said there were 107 rings at first count, meaning the tree could be at least 107-years-old.
