EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - You’ll want to start planting now if you want to grow vegetables.

The Texas A&M AgrLife Extension office in Overton says watermelon, sweet potatoes and cucumber can still be planted from seed.

It’s also a good time to transplant tomatoes or peppers.

When you’re planting your crops, don’t forget to follow the recommended spacing.

This can prevent stress on the plant from too much or too little room.
