EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - When garden season is in full swing, so is weeding.
There’s a simple way you can reduce weeds between the rows and build the soil over time.
You’ll simply need to mulch the middles. You can use any organic material like leaves or tree trimmings you would add to your compost pile for the row middles.
It will need to be applied deep enough to help reduce weeds between the rows. Plus, it acts as a dry footpath to walk across after rain.
Something else you should keep in mind is using the end of your spring garden to incorporate into the garden soil. At the end of the spring garden, a lot of the bottom will have decomposed.
