ALTO, TX (KTRE) - New surveillance video shows the intensity of tornadoes that passed through Cherokee County.

The storm killed four people and heavily damaged the town of Alto nine days ago.

Business in the area released new video on Tuesday showing hours before the warnings started flowing in.

“Tornado come through and it wiped it out. It looks like pixie sticks out there it’s horrible,” said Forrest Hodges, owner of Forrest Hodges Operations.

He said the storms wiped away nearly 100 acres of one tree farm he oversees.

“This is a mess. It’s gonna cost a lot of money to clean up,” Hodges said.

However, Hodges said they’ll log the hours of work but are focusing one the more important things in life.

“Really when you look at the big picture, this is material stuff and so it can be replaced. I look at it as lives are way more important than anything materialistic,” Hodges said.

In all, six tornadoes hit Nacogdoches, Houston, Rusk, and Cherokee Counties.
