Lufkin police arrest man found sleeping in stolen vehicle

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin police said a man was arrested Monday in connection to a vehicle that was reported stolen last week.

According to a Facebook post from Lufkin Police & Fire, last week, a Ford F-250 was reported stolen from C&C Enterprises off Loop 287.

Police said this morning, the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious person/vehicle near the intersection of Coach Redd Road at Scotty Beard Road.

Deputies arrived to find Ryan Moore asleep behind the wheel. After the vehicle returned as stolen through the Lufkin Police Department, deputies contacted them and detectives responded to the scene. The stolen vehicle was recovered with damage to the ignition.

Police said Moore’s arrest marks the sixth one in the past week connected to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle cases. All of the vehicles in these cases have been recovered, police said.
