NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - A suspect is in custody after Nacogdoches police officers were involved in a pursuit Tuesday afternoon.

Sgt. Brett Ayres, a spokesman for the Nacogdoches Police Department, said he has limited information at this time. He said NPD officers were involved in a pursuit near the intersection of the loop and State Highway 7 West, and the suspect is now in custody.

Ayres said that traffic should no longer be affected and that there is no threat to the public.

Nacogdoches County Constable Roger Dudley said that when NPD officers tried to stop a vehicle on Ritchie Street, the driver fled and started circling around that part of time for about 20 minutes. Eventually, the car got onto the loop from Durst Street and headed south.

Dudley said the vehicle came to a stop near SH 7.

We’ll update this story as we get more information.
