EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - Good morning, East Texas! Here’s the weather where you live: Overnight rain could cause some patchy fog early this morning, otherwise another hot and humid day ahead. Another heat advisory is in effect this afternoon as temperatures will rise into the mid 90s again. Heat index values could soar above 105 degrees. One or two isolated showers are possible this afternoon. A weak cold front has moved into East Texas and turned winds from the north. Those light north winds will gradually decrease the humidity headed into the weekend with slightly cooler temperatures. Rain chances for Friday through the weekend will greatly depend on the track of the potential tropical storm brewing in the Gulf of Mexico. The current track takes the storm on shore in Louisiana. If the track pushes closer to East Texas, rain chances could increase across the region with more clouds and cooler temperatures heading into next week. The farther away the track takes the storm, the less rain in East Texas which will make for hot temperatures persisting through the weekend.
