NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) -The Nacogdoches Sheriff's Office is investigating after shots were fired at the Hill's Drive Thru liquor store Tuesday night.
Sheriff Jason Bridges said a Hill’s Drive-Thru employee took a motorcycle battery from someone who he said owed him money.
That person allegedly came to the business to confront the man about the battery—when the employee pulled out a gun, firing two shots into the ground.
Texas Department of Public Safety troopers quickly responded and de-escalated the situation before anyone was hurt.
“The trooper as he recognized what was going on had to come up and come back around. There was a DPS sergeant coming in bound so I’m sure they were communicating on the radio, so luckily they were right there on top of it,” said Bridges.
Deputies are continuing their investigation.
They say footage, case findings and statements are being sent to the district attorney’s office.
