2021 Record: 3-7

Notes: HEAT has four of their six starters on both sides of the ball returning. From the team: “Our biggest strength is the core group of guys who have several years’ experience, and any of them could start on offense or defense. Half of our varsity team played on our state championship team in 2020, and they are hungry to get back. They know what it takes to get there. Also, after taking a year off last year, our coach from 2020, Bill Beggs, is returning to lead the team. The biggest challenge every year for us is always, “Who is coming back?” We never know from one year to the next exactly how many kids we will have. Since we all homeschool, we are separated from one another from one season to the next, so it’s hard to nail down just what our numbers will be.” Players to watch: “We have 5 guys who are going to be key on both sides of the ball. (Most guys play both ways.) Corey Prestige, Micah Atkinson, Micah Brown, Bayden Brink, and Jackson Buck. This is Corey Prestige’s 7th and final year to play and his third year to start. His experience and knowledge will be valuable for the new guys. Micah Atkinson is “beast.” He has vision and a great passion to win. Micah Brown has a desire to be the best as an individual and as a team. He trains for football year-round. Bayden Brink has tremendous speed and agility. Jackson Buck is deceptively fast and an undying heart. We also have three sophomores that we expect will make a huge impact. Colt Corbin started as a freshman on varsity at cornerback. That experience will carry him this year. Sam Tarrant is expected to make an impact at spread back. And Tony Rivera is another “beast” who will prove to be a huge asset, and he has a good football mind.”
