Cybersecurity expert explains best practices for protection in today’s electronic economy

LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - Almost everything we do involves a computer or smart phone; these technologies enable people to communicate and provide business services with little friction. For this reason, the City of Lufkin hosted a seminar Thursday to better explain how to avoid falling victim to hackers and scam artists.

Organizers said it’s not enough to rely on government regulations or service providers to keep your home and office safe from data leaks and attacks; you must arm yourself with knowledge necessary to make your digital profiles hard targets for hackers.
