NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - More than 4,000 people were set to listen to popular country star Cody Jinks on Saturday at the Nacogdoches County Exposition Center.
Just a couple of hours before the doors were to be opened at 5 p.m., the announcement was made the concert was canceled due to a threat.
This kind of disruption is something venue operators and promoters are learning how to deal with, said expo director Anita Scott.
“You can’t be prepared enough for it," Scott said, still visibly upset over the stressful weekend. "I’m eager to find out what we need to do if it ever happens again - what to do first. And what needs to be done next. I hope that we handled this situation to meet those standards of everyone.”
Sheriff Jason Bridges issued a video media statement on Saturday referring to the difficulty of tracing the call. On Monday, he said there were no new updates, but the incident is still under investigation.
Cody Jinks also issued a statement to his fans regretting the cancellation.
