LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - During this holiday season, many people attend events where they are in proximity to each other. This has been one cause of several positive cases of the flu this year.

In-and-Out Clinic is an urgent care facility that offers flu vaccinations for those in and around the city of Lufkin.

They remind people that it's not too late to get vaccinated.

“The flu season is upon us, but the best way to protect yourself is to get the flu vaccine," said Larry Malone, a nurse practitioner. "You get that every year. So, you’ve got to get it every year. The best time of year to get it is around October, but it is not too late. You can still get your vaccination. We have plenty here. We have had over thirteen hundred vaccinations just throughout the flu program here through the clinic.”

Medical professionals say it only takes about two weeks for the flu vaccines to take effect. So, now would be a good time to get them done.
